The Hellenic Initiative was founded in 2012 by members of the global Greek and philhellene communities who were compelled to respond to the worsening economic crisis and inspired to help shape Greece’s long-term recovery. They are united around three core beliefs:

First, a commitment to Greece, faults and all. THI dedicates time, resources and networks to secure a different future.

Second, their work is about investment, not handouts. THI is focused on impact and outcomes, whether it’s a grant to a nonprofit organization, mentorship for an emerging entrepreneur, or investment in a small business. What matters is impact, not effort.

Third, THI believes that across their global community, they have what it takes to create a 21st century powerhouse, both within Greece and across the diaspora.

In June 2017, Tatiana Blatnik became THI’s first, “International Ambassador.” She embodies the aspirations of the Greek Diaspora around the globe for the betterment of Greece. Together with her husband, HRH Prince Nikolaos, Tatiana supports numerous philanthropic causes, and through THI, she will develop an even wider circle of friends for Greece.

The Hellenic Initative provides direct crisis relief to the people of Greece.
